He is, I am.

An introductory post.

I'm sure that some of us here has heard of or probably made use of the Latin phrase, "Cogito, ergo sum" which means "I think, therefore I am". I was obsessed with this phrase two years ago.

Then earlier this year, I discovered another Latin phrase, "Sentio, ergo sum" and this one means "I feel, therefore I am". I fell in love with this one almost immediately, because it acknowledged the importance of human emotions.¹

I love these phrases so much because they tell us that our thoughts and feelings are very important parts or pieces of our lives. It's even in the bible ( Proverbs 23:7) that "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he".

Where am i going with this?

Two weeks ago, I was listening to Minister Dunsin Oyekan's Because He is, I am. I wasn't really paying mind to the lyrics at first but then I listened carefully and then it clicked.

Because He is, I am!

Yes, my thoughts and emotions are very important parts of my life but at the very center of my existence, the piece that matters most is God. He is not just a piece, He is THAT piece, the most important piece.

There was this movie I saw sometime ago, I really can't remember the title but Victoria Justice was in it.² These girls were trying to complete a jigsaw puzzle of The Mona Lisa painting. They were almost done with completing the puzzle when they realized that a piece was missing. I'm telling you that it was not until after a year before one of them found that piece under their refrigerator.

As humans, we're like puzzles with so many pieces, trying to form a picture, might be a particular goal or your future basically.³ You'll realize that after putting every piece you can find together, your friends oh, your choices oh, your thoughts and so many other things, if you don't find God and place Him right there at the center, trust me, that feeling of emptiness go too wound you. My siblings, in every man, there's a vacuum that only God can fill. It might look good at first but my dear, you'll run back to Him.

Now, to the business of the day!

Anywayss, here you go! My name is Chloe, I’m starting a newsletter(again) and for reasons best known to me, it’s really important that you subscribe(there should be a subscribe button below) and read these letters. -I think this letter looks too serious without emojis but some people don't like it when you text with emojis and I tend to overuse them. So, I’d appreciate it if you guys could let me know what you think about this. Should I use emojis or not?
