El-Roi.

Jehovah sees, Jehovah knows.

Hi my love. How have you been and how was this week for you? For me, it was a lot! I did so many things that weren't comfortable and I left my comfort zone. I'm proud of myself sha, I don grow up.😂 I sha survived the first week and I've not completely lost my mind yet. I wrote one dangerous exam today and God really did.

Hope you've thanked God today? 🌚 You know the drill, if you haven't.

Genesis 16:13 – “She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: ‘You are the God who sees me,’ for she said, ‘I have now seen the One who sees me.’

I'm sure we all know this name of God, El- Roi. I think that was the most popular of God's name last year.😂 Everywhere on Twitter, “El-Roi”, “the God who sees me”. In fact, I've met someone with the name El-Roi but believe me when I say, before today, I have never really paid any attention to this particular name of God.If I ever posted or said anything about El- Roi, trust me, I was just following a trend. I didn't really understand what it means to be seen by my fellow humans, not to talk of being seen by the Most high. I mean, there are a lot of people in this world, what's so special about me that He’ll pay attention to me?

To be loved is to be seen and to love is to see.

I was preparing for this letter when this quote came to my mind. I screamed when I made the connection of this quote with this topic, you guyssss, 'cause what's this loveeee?😭😂 Lately, everybody has been on about how nice it is when someone knows and remembers the smallest detail about you. It's actually a very sweet thing when someone says “oh, I told him not to add onions to your Suya, you told me you don't like them.” I don't know about you but my head will literally burst from swelling too much. That was just an example plixx, if you don't like onions, you need help.✋🏾

You guys, have you sat down and think about what it means for someone to be able to see and know every strand of hair on your head? Those tears you shed late in the night when your roommates are asleep, God sees them. Those anxious thoughts that you have, that no one knows about, He can hear them. He sees your struggles with that bad habit, my love. He can see that you're not greeing for the devil and He's right there with you, cheering you on and strengthening you. He's telling you to rest on Him. Show me any love that's greater than this. The amazing part is that God sees everyone just like this. Show me a love that's greater than this.

To be loved is really to be seen, gorsh.

The fact that God sees everything can be actually scary sha, if we’re worried about what God will think of our thoughts, words, and actions. Nothing like “privacy” when it comes to God but it's not a bad thing. It's very beneficial to our lives because realizing that God sees every part of our lives will help us to reflect on our motives and decisions, and do our best to follow God’s guidance for how to live faithfully. I am of the opinion that the only we can express our love to God is to please and obey Him. Just as He can see our struggles and needs, we should also try to see Him and what He wants from us. This is not as far fetched as it seems, it's literally there in the bible.

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:1‬ - 2 NIV‬‬

[1] Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. ‭‭ Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

There is actually no way to keep secrets from God, but we don’t even need to do so. God loves us so much that He gave His grace to us through Jesus Christ. Once we feel confident in God’s love for us, the knowledge that God sees everything should encourage us to please Him and not scare us.

Do you sometimes feel unseen by other people and wish they would notice and appreciate you more? I want you to bear in mind that there is someone who sees you completely – and loves you completely as well. God sees everything you think, say, and do. Nothing in your life is beyond God’s attention. He knows all your struggles, dear sibling. He can see that you're trying.

He sees you, He knows you, He loves you.🥺✨

*This was not what I prepared to write on this week but while waiting for "inspiration", I thought about the events of this week and I realized how Intentional God is about me. There are so many things that I normally struggled with in a season like this but i didn't even have to struggle with them this week.😂 Even for things I didn't pray for but just thought about them in my heart, He came throughh!
