I've been thinking a lot these days, and in the course of my thinking, I’ve been discovering a lot of things. One important discovery that I made i that I've been doing the barest minimum for God and even myself and somehow, I'm so satisfied. Broo, If I was Jesus, I know I can never ever accept the "efforts" this Chloe girl is doing. It is well with us sha, we’ll not continue like this.
The American rock singer turned pastor, John Wimber, said, ‘The standards of lifestyle set by Jesus are very high. Jesus is insatiable. Everything we do pleases him but nothing satisfies him. I have been satisfied with Jesus but he has not been satisfied with me. He keeps raising the standards. He walks in high places He is generous but uncompromising in his call.'’
It's quite easy for us to sing "He who sits in heaven laughs, I sit in heaven, so I laugh" but are we really sure we're sitted in heaven? Have we even done enough work for us to actually sit in those high places with Christ?Yes, Salvation is free, but to maintain that salvation? We have to make efforts!
See, the main goal is for God to look at Jesus, look at us and then look back at Jesus and say to him "Wow, that child looks so much like you". God loves us just the way we are, trust me even if you're not Christian, He loves you. However, He loves you too much to allow you to stay the way you are. We're like diamonds in the rough and God wants to grind off every flaw and polish us, so we can radiate His glory. I have this friend that says "but is the goal not to be like Christ?"as a response to literally, everything. Sometimes, it's funny when he says those words( I even get annoyed sometimes, I can't lie) but deep down, I just know that it's God sending a subtle reminder through him.
Yes, we can't do these things with our own strength and that's why we have the Holy Spirit. He brings us to the place where we are just like Jesus. However, You actually need to allow the Holy Spirit to work in you. One thing about the Holy Spirit is that He'll always receive consent.😂He'll never force Himself on you, never! I think it's just in exceptional cases( Paul, for example) that He might have to apply force.
I don't know if you’ve heard this quote before ; “there’s nothing God cannot do but there are some things He won't do”. Yes, God is supreme but He has also given us freewill. If you don't open the doors of your heart, Jesus won't enter oh. He’ll just keep knocking and waiting outside. I think it sounds weird that a small girl like me will be stressing the Lord of Hosts like that, it doesn't sound right, right?
So, I hope that as you walk into this new week, you'll keep in mind that God has to work in you before He works through you and you’ll allow Him! Allow Him, so you’ll be able to sit in heaven and laugh.🌚
